Street Children! Street children are minors who live and survive on the streets. Our society has taught us to call those children by this name. It is their irony fate that they were born in slums but if they spend their whole life in the slum, if they start begging, if they involve themselves in any wrongdoings it will be our failure. We can’t allow this to happen.
By considering their measurable conditions Lighter Youth Foundation has taken some long term initiatives. We have started a school called ‘Alokito Pathshala’ in Sylhet for spreading the light of education among those deprived children. It is not only traditional education but also their family will be self-dependent. We, everybody, know very well that education can eradicate the all crisis especially financial crisis. We got down on the road of Shabag, TSC and Fuller Road with the paint brush in the occasion of Pahela Baishakh for collecting fund for proving some financial support to those underprivileged children. People from all classes of the society along with a former minister came forward to help by hearing their condition.
Eid is an occasion of joy and happiness. But the question is how much happiness can be recognized it as ‘Enlightened Eid’. Yes, we made it. We, the members of the Lighter Youth Foundation, provided appareled (Dress) to around 52 children by saving our pocket money for sharing the fun and happiness. What could be more happiness than that? We have enjoyed ‘Iftar’ in the Holy Ramadan with the 52 children of ‘Alokito Pathshala’. In exchange of all of those initiatives we have got pellucid and limpid smile on their face. Thus, you and I, altogether, can bring more joy and happiness. We are very hopeful that one day Bangladesh will be enlightened with the Flme of ‘Alokito Pathshala’
